Each AP ships with a Base MAC address. This is what is printed on the box and the label, and is what identifies the AP in the SmartZone/Unleashed/Cloud/R1 controller.

However, each device on a network requires a unique MAC address. This also applies to each SSID being broadcast by each radio of *each AP ***- also known as each BSSID.

Ruckus APs generate these BSSID MAC addresses using the Base MAC as its starting point.

The Base MAC is always formatted as one of the following:

XX:XX:XX:**0**X:XX:X**0**
XX:XX:XX:**1**X:XX:X**0**
XX:XX:XX:**2**X:XX:X**0**
XX:XX:XX:**3**X:XX:X**0**
